Las Vegas in December is a cowboy’s and cowgirl’s paradise: The Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, the shopping, the casinos, and now, the ALL IN Barrel Race. This is only the second year that Chris Woodruff, founder and event producer of the Roper Cowboy Marketplace and Stetson Country Christmas, will put on the ALL IN Barrel Race. With a great turnout last year, and some new additions this year, this is sure to become another December Vegas tradition.
Taking place over 2 weekends, with 3 race days each weekend, (December 10-12 & December 15-17), and a qualifying race for RFD-TV’s The American, (December 17), this race adds to the Vegas Experience. Additions to this year’s race include: a deeper payout in each division of each round, (15 places in each division, and 5 places in the Showdown round), and a discounted second horse entry fee. Entries to this race are unlike any other; your entry fee is ALL INCLUSIVE! That’s right- your entry fee includes a 4-night stay at The Orleans Hotel & Casino, truck & trailer parking, 4-night stall at Orleans Arena, open arena time, a contestant’s jacket, and more! Plus, with a Guaranteed Cash Payout of $300,000, your chances at winning money in Sin City are tripled! But seriously, where else could a 4D or 5D contestant win $10k? There is no reason to NOT enter.
A contestant cap of 500 entries per race ensures the Orleans Arena will be running in smooth operation. Riders will be in and out as fast as they can turn the pattern, and spectators will always be on the edge of their seats watching the riders fly! Running for some serious money always gets rider’s and their horse’s working harder. Each age division, (18 & Under, Adult 19-49, and Senior 50+) has their own incentive, like the $3,000 Sherry Cervi Youth Incentive for riders 18 & Under. Incentives are optional, but for a $50 entry fee and 100% payback, why wouldn’t you put your name in the pot?
Vegas can be overwhelming, especially if you’re pulling a trailer down the strip, but showing up for the ALL IN Barrel Race is a breeze. Event Producer Chris Woodruff makes a “turn key” race for contestants, and provides an exceptional staff to help contestants navigate the arena, the rules, and the runs. Upon arrival, you will be required to check in. You will need for each horse: a negative Coggins test, a Health Certificate, and proof of ownership. Safety is a top priority at the ALL IN Barrel Race, which is why the Race is a Safe Arena Footing (SAF) Committee Certified Event, and will have Desert Pine Equine Medical & Surgical Center, a premier equine vet serving the Las Vegas area, onsite. Other exhibitors and onsite services, such as custom saddles by Robbie Phillips of Phillips saddlery, will be available to the contestants and open to the public as well.
Events like these would not be possible without incredible sponsors, exhibitors, and of course, you- the contestants. Sponsors such as Total Equine Feeds, the official feed sponsor, Martin Saddlery, who will be providing the Champion Saddles, and Kabota, the events Tractor and Equipment Partner, help to make sure the arena is in full function, and the contestants are after something amazing to win.
Keep your eyes open for more exciting information on the ALL IN Barrel Race website, www.lvbarrelrace.com, or their Facebook page. This is sure to be an event you won’t want to miss, especially in fabulous Viva Las Vegas!
